Health Education Technician
Komiko Garcia is an enrolled member of the Red Lake Nation and is a proud mama to her son Giovonni “Ducky”.
She was born in Chicago, IL and moved to New Town, ND at a young age. She would spend her time going to school and spending summers and Christmas with her dad and grandma in Chicago before moving back to Chicago after high school. After her son Giovonni was born she moved back to New Town to complete her schooling for practical nursing at Williston State College.
Komiko started at the Fort Berthold Diabetes Program in 2012 as a medical support assistant and transferred as a health education tech in 2019 in hopes of motivating the people who are shy to in a healthier lifestyle or need some extra motivation. She is a certified Zumba instructor, “Stepping On” fall prevention leader, Diabetes Prevention Program lifestyle coach, and Chair exercise instructor.
During Komiko’s free time she enjoys shopping, movies, travelling to tropical countries, and spending time with her family.
