Registered Dietitian & Certified Diabetes Educator
Celeste Hart was born in Minot and lived in Parshall until she graduated in 1989. Her parents are Bob and Bev Loock, her grandmother Ina B. Hall lived with the Loock family. Grandma Ina was an extension agent and 4H leader on Fort Berthold, she started teaching Celeste how to cook at an early age. Celeste went to NDSU to get her bachelor or science in dietetics. She then went to University of South Dakota in Vermillion for her dietetic internship. Her first job was at the Diabetes Program in Winnebago, Nebraska. In 1998 she moved back to her home reservation to work for the Fort Berthold Diabetes Program.
Celeste is married to Shane Hart and they have two sons. When her boys were in grade school she decided to try a second act and went to school for elementary education. She taught for nine years and really enjoyed being a teacher. In 2015, she went back to being a Registered Dietitian. She studied and took the Certified Diabetes Educator exam in 2018.
She loves listening to her patients tell about their lifestyle and finding ideas to incorporate ways to eat healthier, incorporate fun exercise and helping them with other concerns about diabetes. She loves teaching cooking classes and grocery store tours.
In her free time Celeste loves walking with her family and dogs, they love to go hiking on vacation. Celeste loves plants and is becoming a gardener. She believes food is medicine and wants to stay active and learn new things every day.
